John Syme (d. 1945), Ex-Inspector of Police and leader of the National Union of Police and Prison Officers
These extensive files are largely official and mainly concentrate on Syme's disciplinary hearing, followed by subsequent demotion and dismissal from the London Metropolitan police force as Inspector for alleged insubordination in 1910. Further files document a review of the case in 1924 with Syme determined to clear his name as well as highlight persecution and corruption within the upper echelons of the force. |
